Rebecca has more than 25 years’ professional experience in journalism, internal and external communications, media relations, and marketing. She spent the past two years as a public information officer for the State of Alaska’s Department of Health and Social Services, and the four years prior to that working as a non-profit marketing and communications manager with Camp Fire Alaska.
With considerable experience creating comprehensive marketing and communication plans and producing a wide variety of marketing and promotional materials, Rebecca’s prior professional experience also includes more than 15 years in magazine editing with Alaska Magazine and Cypress Magazines. One of her true passions is making technical, scientific, and academic concepts understandable, accessible, and relatable to a non-technical audience.
Rebecca holds a hold a Master’s degree in Journalism and a Bachelor of Social Science in Criminology. She is originally from Canada, and has lived in the United States since 1998, having moved to Bethel, AK in 2002 and relocating to Anchorage in 2004.
